Behavior, more than training

While I train dogs, I also do so much more. At the core I work with behavior. Training in itself is just one aspect of behavior. Something hears a cue and behaves a certain way. But when we look at all of behavior using operant conditioning we can go further. We can reduce fears and anxieties of animals. We can work on aggressive reactions of animals. We can create a chain of behaviors that happen when environmental cues, such as doorbells go off. By understanding behavior and how animals learn, we can start to figure out why an animal does something and come up with a plan to alter that behavior to improve the lives of everyone in the home.
