Approximation of Behavior

Approximations are the key to training. Knowing when to reward for almost doing a behavior or for getting closer to the behavior that we desire. Often times this is where I come in. I set the approximations or I push through the approximations phase of training or behavior management. From there I hand it off to the owner to practice and maintain the behavior. Approximations are used to teach the animal to follow cues and are even used to desensitize fears that the animal may have. With correct approximations, marking, and rewards there is nearly a limitless possibility to how we can improve the lives of our fur families.
